If you are a serious late season hunter and love hunting a brassica plot full of bulbs this is the blend for you! Our December Draw brassica mix contains 3 different brassica varieties that produce bulbs and make up 70% of the overall seed blend. In addition to Purple Top, Barkant, and New York turnips we also add Rutabaga. Rutabaga is far more palatable than turnips and provides significantly more top growth resulting in increased leafy forage.
A Food Plot Concepts mix wouldn’t be complete without adding Groundhog Forage Radish. We can’t stress the benefits of radishes enough. A great early season draw they will help to set the pattern for the brassica section of your food plot for the entire season. They are also a key component when it comes to improving your soil. Your soils health is important to us that’s why we include them in so many of our products.
We round out the mix with Winifred Brassicas and Forage Collards. They are both extremely palatable, high in protein, provide lots of forage, and able to effectively withstand grazing pressure from deer ensuring a quality food source all Fall.
December Draw is a very powerful attractant during late season. Deer will key in on the bulbs and return day after day so long as they remain. It is a great plot for late season doe management and a tool we utilize ourselves to help us control antlerless populations on the properties we hunt.
Planting rate is 3 pounds for a half-acre and 6 pounds for 1 acre.
