Straight Turnips is the perfect addition to an early summer planting of corn or soybeans. It adds much needed diversity to these plantings and will provide critical food options for whitetails at times of the year when the corn and soybeans are not being used. This helps to maintain the pattern whitetails have been using all Summer as they transition to Fall food sources. Deer will key in on the turnip tops early then when colder temperatures arrive the bulbs will make an already powerful corn and soybean plot even more attractive. The bulbs are an excellent source of carbohydrates when deer are looking for food sources that enable them to quickly build up their energy reserves for winter months. It makes for exciting sits throughout December.
Straight Turnips is both easy on your wallet and easy to establish. You can simply broadcast 6 pounds an acre into an existing corn or soybean field and get ready to hunt. We like to broadcast the day before a rain so make sure you watch the weather.
